THE HARAMA COLLECTION
This ‘Harama’ collection explores the idea of the forbidden fruit – creating jewels laden with rich, opulent elements and a temptingly darker edge. The collection is told in 3 stories. In ‘Dark Deco’, emphasis is on strong, structural silhouettes created using Akong’s trademark rows of Swarovski crystals framed by 24k gold plated chains. The deco inspiration plays out in the bold graphic patterns arising from the contrast stitching between the crystals and the heavy crystal embellishments. ‘At Midnight’ explores a rich, dark palette of indigo, deep purple, emerald and black Swarovski crystals, interlaced with 24k gold plated and gunmetal chains. Spiked semi-precious stone drops are integrated into the rows of crystals to give the story its distinctive tougher edge. ‘Midnight Tropic’ considers the lure of the secret garden at night. Bright bursts of tropical colour are tempered by contrasting monochrome elements. Rows of soft stitching are hardened by spiked semi-precious stone drops.
