THE TABBY COLLECTION

I first came across the existence of ‘tabbies’ (also known as dickeys or turtleneck bibs) many years ago when a friend of mine brought a mini one back from Sweden as a gift for one of my children. I thought they were the most genius invention, and filed the idea away to recreate one for myself one day. Traditionally, they are worn underneath shirts or jumpers as an extra layer of warmth for the neck, but I much prefer mine worn under my coat but over the top of my main clothes, as a statement in and of itself, and of course, embellished to the hilt! Some I have knitted; some I have sewn; and some I have re-fashioned from secondhand jumpers. But one thing is for sure — this is a collection that I will definitely keep adding to over time!
